I don't even know where to start...

Actually it isn't that hard to start - not much is really happening. We are just enjoying our lives with Ethan. We had a little photo shoot with Ethan's cousins on the Andrew side of the family. There are only seven of them and one cousin on the way:)

Ethan does smile, just not during photo shoots.
Let's see what else have we done this summer... we played with Grandpa Bryson. Dad is doing really well and we enjoy all of the time we get to spend together. I need to visit more often - I know. I finally had my parents over for Sunday dinner. I was so nervous that the food wouldn't be good enough which is why it took forever for me to have the guts to even have them over.
Ethan and Emron love to ride the four-wheelers around the cabin.

I know we did other things. It takes forever to download pictures and I get bored. Although while I doing this post it reminded me that we took a cruise around Italy this summer and I haven't posted anything about that. That will be my next post when I get the patience to get on blogger!!!!

Our growing garden

The little plants are growing. We have transplanted them into larger containers since these photos. Mid-May we will move them to the outside.

I have a vegetable garden!

So, Heather and I have decided to plant a vegetable garden this year. We started with seeds and planted them yesterday. I am really excited. We decided to plant corn, peppers, carrots, cucumbers, tomatoes, thyme, green onions, mint and basil.
We have started indoors for now since it is still freezing outside. I will post more pictures as our seedlings begin to grow. Wish me good luck because we are gonna need it! I haven't grown anything before but I think it will be fun to eat food I have grown - but we will see.

Heather's Baby Shower

I had the very fortunate opportunity to help with Heather's baby shower (my sister-in-law - I love her:). I had so much fun with the decorations - I could easily be a party planner - at least the decorating parts - I am not so good with food. I had so much fun!
I decided to do a clothesline of the cute little outfits she already had.
I love coordinating napkins and paper goods and food displays. It's the funnest part. The napkins ended up looking like roses. I hadn't really planned it that way until I got started making them. I wrapped the utensils with the napkins.
Finally - the best/cutest was the diaper cake. I know most people have already seen one before but it was the first one I have made with any great success. So FYI - if anyone is planning a baby shower, let me know because I love planning! It's much more fun planning baby girl showers because it's supposed to be cutesy but boys can be fun too.

A Mom's Right...

His little personality is shining through :) He is so much fun I can hardly stand it. I just really being able to see him grow and learn each day. He recently had his first real haircut. He immediately stopped looking like a baby and became a little boy. I am not sure I am ready for that - but I guess it is coming anyway.
There are never enough binkies for this boy! He has three in his right hand, one in his left and one in his mouth. I think it's an obsession! I usually am lucky to find one binkie at any given time but one night Emron found his stash under his crib - so now we have 5.
Ethan's latest move is lounging! He loves crossing his legs when he sits with us and now he has started putting his hands behind his head just to relax from his very stressful days!

Once in a Blue Moon

Apparently it is time for me to update the blog. I have no idea if anyone even reads my blog because I don't ever post. But, in case there is that one person who wants to know...here is the latest.

Happy 1st birthday Ethan! My little baby boy is now one! I can't believe it - it has been the fastest year of my life. Ethan is walking all over the place. More and more teeth keep coming in...fun. We just got back from Maui with the Andrew family. We had a great time - we took Ethan and it was fun but I don't think he will be joining us next time.

I have a medical question for anyone. My shoulders hurt so bad. I can't sleep and it is difficult for me to rotate my arms or raise them. Typing, etc is getting more difficult. What should I do? I know I need to see a doctor, but who? I have a busted knee too. I am falling apart and I am only 28. That's all for now...I hear Ethan awake.

Second Posting in One Month!

This must be some sort of record. Two postings in one month. I have become so lazy about it and my life so standard that there isn't much to blog about. So we are hoping that Ethan will keep working (on his laptop) and start paying his own way! This kid is expensive. The big expense is his clothing because I insist that he make me look good when we are together! I need all of the help I can get.
My dad celebrated his 75th birthday early this October. I had to prepare the slideshow of his life. It was a lot of work but well worth it. Now I am trying to make copies for everyone in the family.
BTW - could my arms and face look any fatter?
This is Emron's dream come true...Ethan loves the football! Isn't he the cutest?

I know that there is more happening in my life, not much, but alittle more. We now have grass. We have been trying to get grass all summer and it was finally laid a week ago! We love it. Finally our house doesn't look like a construction site. Well, I hear Ethan stirring awake from his nap. I better run - talk to everyone soon.

Hello

I don't have anything to say. I just wanted to update my blog background and post a little comment. I am up at my cabin right now looking at the mountains...snow on top and autumn trees all over. It is so beautiful. I greatly enjoyed conference, although I will have to reread the talks so I can remember them all.

Mountains & Maui

I feel like every time I blog I have to start by saying that I h
aven't blogged in eons. I think all should just accept that I won't be blogging more than once a month if that! Let's shoot for once a quarter!

My family decided to go camping in the mountains above Cedar City, Utah over Labor Day weekend. This was Ethan's first camping trip. Ethan was wonderful and slept fairly well. It rained a lot, but we were in a motorhome so we were high and dry! This weekend was my first attempt to cook for my family and I think everyone enjoyed the meals.

It was so fun to dress Ethan. I had so much fun shopping for him and dressing him. Camping is all about the clothes!
This is at Cedar Breaks. I love our little family.

This was my first zipline adventure on Maui. It was a lot of fun, not as scary as I thought it would be.

I don't even know if I am in this picture, but you get the picture!

Stupidity Costs $70

So...a funny and sadly true story. When we moved into our house in December the water had been shut off in the house to prevent the pipes from freezing. Well, we moved in and turned the water on to the house and in the basement there are a few levers that go to the outside hose faucets. We turned those on and water would start pouring into the basement. We figured it was a broken pipe and shut that water off. Since we didn't need water outside until we had a yard we figured we would just wait until Summer to fix it. Right now we are having our yard put in and they needed to test the sprinklers. Emron said we needed to have a plumber come and fix the pipe first. I call a plumber and they came out that morning. I took them down into the basement and showed them how the water comes into the house. We turn the knob and water starts pouring into the basement - then the plumber turns another knob just below it and the water stops! It was just a drain they installed so they could remove all the water from the house when it was vacant! The company charges $70 just to come to the house - so that was my $70 down the drain! I told the plumber that he could go in his truck and laugh at me for paying him to turn a knob! I felt like and idiot.

Ethan's First 4 Wheeler Ride with Daddy

This is Ethan's 1st four wheeler ride with his daddy! We are ashamed that he is already 5 months old and this was his first ride. We had a great few days at Indianola riding and playing over the 4th of July weekend. We finally upgraded our camera to a Nikon digital SLR. Most of that info I don't understand myself, but the camera is really big and takes great pictures and takes pictures REALLY fast so I can catch all of Ethan's cute expressions! We love it!

We believe that is picture is proof that Ethan will be a great priesthood holder...he can sleep sitting up! Emron usually holds Ethan at night and Ethan will be awake one second then I ask Emron if he is still awake and he has totally zonked out.

This is Ethan's cousin Boede. You can see that they are opposites in appearance but both LOVE to eat their hands! Boede is almost one year old and Ethan is 5 months!

We have started feeding Ethan rice cereal. We tried a few weeks ago but he didn't like it so much. But a few nights ago we tried it again and he really like it. This is the result...a messy messy face, but so cute.

We are all doing very well and enjoying the summer. Ethan is started to venture into the swimming pool...pictures to come.

Baby Blessing, Camelback, Father's Day, & Stuff

All of these pictures are of Ethan and Emron. I still do not look good enough to be in pictures yet. I haven't lost any weight. I love food. At any rate, enjoy the pictures. For Father's Day on Saturday we had a BBQ at my in-laws and played bacci, croquet and wally ball. Ethan got to lay outside and play with a few toys. He is such a happy boy!
Ethan chillin' in our chair playing with his toys!. This was the first time he wore shoes! So cute!
Daddy and Ethan in his first swimsuit. This year at Camelback was the coldest I have ever witnessed. It was in the 60's most of the trip. I didn't even get in the pool once! Emron did treat me to a facial at the spa - which was so wonderful.

Ethan's Baby Blessing day, May 4, 2008. We took forever to bless him, but General Conference and bad weather held us back. Emron said a beautiful blessing and Ethan was happy and quiet. We had all of our family over to our house to celebrate.

Long Time No Post!

I have not been a very good blogger recently. I can't remember what has happened so...here is a cute picture of Ethan. When I have nothing else to say, I can always post about my sweet baby pie.

Memory Lane - Childhood Choreography

I was listening to Color Me Badd on Darci's blog and it totally reminded me that when we were kids (Darci, Jamie & I - yes I am ratting you out!) we would make up dances in my room or garage. I recall some choreography to Red Red Wine, Cherry Oh Baby, and All For Love. We were so geeky cool! I know there are a ton of other embarrassing childhood secrets that I will reveal on occasion when my life is a little slow!

Photo Update

There are several events taht have occured - none of which I have blogged about so this is an all-in-one posting. Emron had to work in California and I got to spend time with Darci and Gwen. It was our first family trip and Ethan did great in the car. Darci was a wonderful host and we had a great time!
Aaron, Emron's brother, got married this last Friday to an amazing person - Heather. She and I get a long like sisters. I am so happy for them both! They live in the house just behind us and we do just about everything together! I love it!
This is my cute boy - just thought I would throw this in.

Ashley, Emron's sister, just returned from a semester abroad in New Zealand. This is her first meeting with her newest nephew. She was excited to meet him before Mindy did!
These are my two favorite people...I love you both! Ready for church≥
This was a picture of when I hosted my first dinner at my new house. It was for Easter. I had 13 people and it worked perfectly. I love sitting around our table sharing our thoughts on Easter.
I am sure other things have happened and I will get to them when I remember.

Ode to my sweetheart!

Emron's new book is being released on April 30th! You can find it at most major bookstores like Barnes and Noble. He co-authored the book with his dad, Doug Andrew and brother, Aaron Andrew. I just wanted to share my excitement with everyone and congratulate Emron for his hard work and dedication to this project. I am so proud of him. He has spent many many hours creating this book and it's associated web links. I am so impressed with his creative capabilities and love him so much! A few years ago he developed a software program. I am amazed at the hard work and long hours he puts in. He deserves the success he has seen. I love you Emron!

Twilight Series

I am a huge Twilight book series fan and I thought I should post some info about the upcoming fourth novel, Breaking Dawn, release date August 2, 2008! I am so excited. When I start reading these books everything else falls by the wayside - laundry, eating, sleeping, cleaning, bathing. Also the movie Twilight will be released December 12, 2008! The kid who played Cedric Diggory is going to play Edward - not a bad choice. Check out this link to see the list and pictures of characters/actors. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1099212/

I am going to start reading the series again - so if I don't call you you will know why!

Ethan's Two Week Photo Shoot

Monday, March 17, 2008

Okay! Okay! More Pictures of Ethan

I have received several sweet requests to see more pictures of Ethan. Although the professional pictures we had taken have not yet been returned (very upset) I do have a few pictures that we have taken of him. I think I am determined to get a new camera that takes pictures faster because we always miss the cutest face because our camera is to slow. I also am really struggling to arrange these photos the way I want to. These pictures were all taken in March - some earlier in the month and some more recently. I love him!!! I have said it 100 times already today and its only 3 PM.

Greetings from my MacBookPro!

I have crossed the line from PC to Mac! Emron bought my MacBook Pro for my birthday! Emron has been so sweet. This is my first Mac and I am trying to learn how to use it. So far, it has been pretty easy. I will be able to run Windows Vista as well on this laptop so I can still do other things. I basically was sold on the fun photo, dvd and music options. I want to create more fun things and less business stuff.

I hope that my Windows friends will still be friends with a Mac user :)

He Arrived!!!
Little Ethan Douglas Andrew was born on Super Tuesday at 2:10 in the morning. He wieghed in at 5 lbs. 9 oz. :). He is little but perfect and healthy. He is 20 inches long.
We are loving him to death. He is so cute. He is very well behaved. He gives little grunts and calms very quickly.
Harmony is doing pretty good. We came in on Monday to see her doctor because she was having some fairly severe pains in her mid back and upper abdomen for the last couple of nights from about 3 am to 6 am. They were constant so we weren't sure if they were labor pains or not. So we came in on Monday to see Dr. Barton and they had her checking her pulse and blood pressure. Her blood pressure seemed quite high so the nurse checked it again and then had another nurse check it again to confirm. It was about 158 over 103. The doctor was concerned about how high her blood pressure was more particularly the second number. They had her do a urine sample and said that there was a high protein count. He sent us downstairs to labor and delivery (his office is in the hospital) to get some lab tests. Once we got down to labor and delivery they also confirmed what the doctor was concerned about and began to prep Harmony for delivery. Harm was diagnosed with pregnancy induced hypertension, preeclaimpsia, hellp syndrome, and maybe one other that I can't remember. The only cure is to have the baby. The only problem was that the doctor said her cervex was still closed. They were also concerned about whether or not she would be able to use an epideral because her plateletts were not ideal. That concerned Harm just a little bit becuase she was not excited at all about experiencing all of the pain. Luckily the anethesiologist was good (he is our neighbor) and was able to give it to her. Long story short we entered labor and delivery at about 6 pm and by 1:20 she was fully dialated and ready to push. She pushed for 50 minutes and Ethan was born at 2:10!
Ethan seems to be doing perfect :):):) Harmony is doing good too. Her blood pressure is still high and her kidneys were not fully functioning as well as her plateletts were now low. So they have not moved her yet to recovery because they want to keep a close eye on her. The nurses and doctors have been wonderful and taking good care of her. She looks good - only a bit swollen and tired. Her kidneys have made a lot of improvement this morning, but her blood pressure is still high and her plateletts are still too low to take out the needle for the epideral.
We have loved and appreciated everyone for all that they have done. Harmony is in wonderful hands and is recovering good. I will do my best to keep everyone updated. If you see her you would not even think that really anything was wrong. She is feeding Ethan and being a wonderful Mother. I will try and get some more pictures and perhaps video up on the blog soon. Thank you again to everyone for everything.

Baby Shower and Baby Pain!

Well - I am officially ready for this child to come into the world and out of my body! I am close to miserable. My back has been killing me and I am tired of not having the ability to bend, move or have any sort of energy.

On a positive note...I had a wonderful baby shower! I was surrounded by all of the people I love. I received a lot of very nice gifts and advice.

I really didn't want to add a picture to this post because I am so swollen, unattractive and overweight. Let's just say that Emron and I are roughly the same weight. Poor Emron, sometimes I wonder why he still loves me when I look this way! He is a wonderful man. He takes great care of me morning, noon and night.

A New Home...New Repairs!

We closed on our new home on December 27th and we have had quite the adventure so far. Who thought a new home would have so mnay repairs! Here is a brief list of the challenges for the "new" house.

1. No Refridgerator - The fridge was removed a few weeks prior to closing -

2. Electricity - Our main panel was stolen from the outside of our home - so we had no heat or electricity for a few days.

3. Water - Because the house "winterized" we had to turn the water back on to the house after the heat was working. OH - they didn't know how to winterize and we have a broken pipe to the hose connection outside - that will be a fun spring project.

4. Dishwasher Repair - Although new...it leaks. One more repair!

5. Missing Lights! - Our main entry light and two fans were missing. I hope someday to have those installed.

6. Light bulbs - although minor we have replaced most of the light bulbs inside and out.

7. Wood Repair - In the moving process we have damaged some furniture and handrails, etc.

8. The Garage - I am blaming this incident on my pregnancy. I went to my car in the garage and opened the garage, got on my phone, got inside my car, pressed the garage door opener (again) and backed into my closing garage door.

Eventhough we have had a few set backs we are so extremely happy to be in our new home. Thanks to everyone for their support and happy words!

Finally! A New Home for the Andrew's

We Won! We Won! We Won!

We finally had our day in court over our new house! We Won! The judge ruled from the bench that we did not breach the contract and the other party must perform on the contract. We were awarded our attorney's fees, to be deducted from purchase price - which is super awesome. We signed the contract over two years ago and began litigation in March 2006 - so it has been a long road. Although it will take two months to finally close and get it all resolved we can be patient a little longer. The judge was great and many thanks to our attorneys. Many, many thanks to our family and friends that have been so supportive and the many prayers on our behalf. We will keep everyone posted as the details are determined. Thanks again and we are beyond happy with the ruling of the court.

I've Been Tagged!

Apparently I have been "tagged" to give 6 bits of useless information about myself - I will try to make them somewhat interesting but I am not that interesting (thanks Darci).

1. I spent a considerable amount of time as a youngster trying to convince Jamie (a childhood best friend born in 1980) that I was older (born in 1981) than she was simply because my birthday is in February and hers is in June. She didn't buy it. I was always upset that I was a year behind in everything from Jamie & Darci.

2. Confession - At the ripe old age of 26, I still sleep with my blankie - it's pink and silky. I have had it since I was 5 or 6 years old. I not only sleep with it, but it travels with me on my business trips & vacations. It has absolutely no stuffing/padding & has holes in it. But, it is the most comforting item I own. My mother made it. When I got married she asked if I would take it on my honeymoon - I did.

3. I love all television shows that show manufacturing of products, especially food! I am mesmerized by the processes it takes! I get totally sucked in to it. I find myself watching Modern Marvels whenever its on. HGTV in its entirety - is a joy to my day. If you get a chance watch Clean House - it will motivate you to get rid of stuff (Nicole will appreciate it).

4. Emron & I have a crazy addiction to Harry Potter. We frequently have contests to see who can name the most spells from the books. It helps us stay awake when we are on road trips. We have also watched the 1st Harry Potter movie a million times - it helps us fall asleep. My ipod has all of the audiobooks on it and that is what I listen to most often.

5. Darci reminded me about my childhood resume. I "owned" several businesses as a child...Nordstroms, Real Estate Bill Estate (now that's a dumb name), a law firm, an airline, school, church & several restaurants. I am looking to retire from my real job in the next week or so. Yeah!!!!

6. Confession #2 - I have an extreme phobia of stickers. It completely grosses me out if people put stickers on themselves! Kids at school would put banana and apple stickers on their skin and just thinking about it now makes me gag! I had a sticker collection as a kid, but that was okay becuase it was on organized and protected paper. I hate finding stickers on furniture or floors, etc. or worse - with hair or gunk stuck to it. I am amazed that I can use a bandaid.

Thanksgiving Turkey Time!

Before I get scolded by others for not updating my blog more frequently let me report on Thanksgiving. This is the year that we spend with the Bryson family. Lisa & Jeff graciously drove out to Utah. Courtney & Jon and their kids and Reed came as well. Mom & Dad hosted and everything was delicious and I truly over-ate. I seem to have lost the ability to feel full since I have been pregnant. It's a love/hate situation. The entire family came to our cabin in Friday and sweet Emron brought up the four-wheelers for everyone to enjoy. It was a freezing, but beautiful day. All of the kids enjoyed playing table tennis, pool, xbox and table games - and of course, we ate. The photo is of the turkey bowl at my parents. Madeline is the trooper to play with the boys :) I love her!

Hott Mama Rocks Guitar Hero 3

I have discovered a new talent and passion - Guitar Hero on XBox 360! I love this game - Emron is excellent too. I have a general rule of keepint the Xbox at our cabin, but since buying Guitar Hero I have crumbled and the system is at Aaron's house - which keeps me playing way too often. My band, Hott Mama, basically rocks the whole game. I generally play on the hard level but I have passed a few songs on expert and my ego is through the roof. The picture shows my smashing my guitar because the song I played rocked so great nothing better could come from that guitar. Yes - my ego is huge.

It's a BOY!!

Although I am nearly 28 weeks along I guess I should post the news that we are expecting a baby boy! We have chosen a name - Ethan Douglas. I am feeling great at the this point - it is challenging to put shoes on and bend over in any way, but still doing well. I am starting to swell, too, but I can't really complain because I feel so good most of the time. Baby Ethan is expected to arrive February 21st - ish. Emron is so excited about the baby and is taking very good care of the mother-to-be. He basically brings me breakfast in bed almost everyday. I am not working much anymore and just trying to prepare for the baby and enjoy the last few months of sleep. The grandmas are super excited and can hardly hold themselves back from going overboard with gifts and caring. I am not putting up much fight against it. In the picture I am 24 weeks - I have grown since then. I am not giant in size but I feel giant.

A Year in Review - 2007

We figure that since we have started the blog so late in life that we should let you know what we have been up to so far this year...

We spent 10 whole days in Maui, HI in February - a wonderful Andrew family tradition. This is Emron(left) with his brother Aaron (right). We spend most of our time boogie boarding. Fun and cheap! You won't find many pictures of me because I am ususally taking all of them.

This was my first trip on the road to Hana - on a Harley-Davidson! Once again, I am not pictured because I don't want my parents to find out that Emron and I ride motorcycles (I am just a passenger). It was the longest, prettiest ride I've ever been on. See proof below that I was actually there.

In July we vacationed at Lake Powell. This year was sort of boring for me personally because being pregnant I can't do ANTYTHING! But everyone else had a fabulous time. A favorite pasttime while at Lake Powell is to have "water-dog fights". Its basically a competition to see who can hold on the longest while pushing other people off.

Our Growing Family

After several years of trying, we are finally pregnant! All I can say is that miracles happen. Our official due date is February 21, 2008. We are beyond excited and I am trying to withhold spending our savings for everything for this kid. We don't know which we are having yet but will keep everyone posted. We found out on Father's Day, the day before we were starting fertility shots. Thank heaven I didn't have to take the shots! We feel very blessed and seek advice from all (subject to change). So far the items we have purchased and received are all green and yellow. I can't believe that it's really happening. I have felt pretty good. I was expecting a lot worse.

We've joined the blog community!

Emron and I have finally decided to join the rest of the world and get a family blog. Although our circle of influence of friends and family are few, we hope that it will bring joy and happiness to your lives. I have been completely lame about maintaining contact with old friends, roommates and even some family and its about time we fix that. Warning! We are not that interesting, but if you would still post comments it would make us feel better about ourselves! :)
